Update On The Pig

We found a family who would take the little pig home and raise him. The Kaawa family is going to take him. This is Hiilani's boy friend, Bugs, who is getting the pig out of the hole.
Bugs holding the pig. You have to grab him behind the ears on the neck and then it makes them hold still. He was very brave because that little pig was squealing.

Trice holding the little fellow.

Trice and the caretaker, Elder Wright.

Ready to go home now. The Kaawa's named him Tapioca, because that is what he was trying to eat in Bro. Tafisi's Garden. He will be fattened up and eaten for a 1st birthday celebration.

Banana tree

Apple bananas...better than regular bananas

Another banana tree
Young banana trees

Taro...they use the root to make poi and the leaf is for wrapping lau lau which is the pig.

Holding a baby coconut by the coconut tree. The ones that are still on the tree are green. The locals like the green coconuts.

Pele...very nutritional and tastes like spinach.

Elder Wright and his Golden Eagle bow given to him by Basil.

A trap set for the pig. The first time they used coconut and this time they used bread as bait.
The pig hole by row of new banana trees.

Taking care of the poor little pig.
Feeding him some coconut.
The captured pig. He has been rooting around for food and trying to get out.
Simeon Aina is pettting the little guy, but don't be fooled, he has a temper and we saw that when Elder was trying to give him some water.
Wondering who in the world we are!
